Sevierville man arrested after multi-county chase ends on Chapman Highway

A Sevier County man is behind bars in connection with an armed robbery that happened Tuesday.

SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. — A Sevier County man was taken into custody following a multi-county chase.

The Sevier County Sheriff's Office arrested 29-year-old Jordan Lynn James of Sevierville, saying he is suspected in an armed robbery that took place at the Cash Express in Seymour Tuesday.

Officers said they had developed information Wednesday that led to James being named a suspect in a crime, and had sent investigators to a location on Boyd's Creek Road to arrest him when the suspect's vehicle passed by them.

Officers then pursued the vehicle which led them into Knox County, where the Knox County Sheriff's Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol assisted in the chase.

The SCSO said the vehicle was eventually stopped on Chapman Highway near the Colonial Village area.

Officers said the James was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Sevier County Sheriff's Office. The investigation is ongoing.
