Second murder suspect charged in fatal shooting of 74-year-old Crossville woman

Officers arrested 35-year-old Kirk Clark and his Doneal. Both are now charged with First Degree Murder.

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has made a second arrest in the shooting death of a 74-year-old Crossville woman.

According to the TBI, officers arrested 35-year-old Doneal Clark and charged her with one count of First Degree Murder. She was booked into the Cumberland County Jail on a $2 million bond.

The TBI said agents joined Cumberland County officers in investigating a shooting that took place at a home on Cherokee Trail in Crossville on Jan. 19.

Officers said 74-year-old Linda Damewood  died from her injuries in that shooting. Two others -- Andrew Schan, 63, and Ellen Cairns, 73, were also injured by gunfire.

On Jan. 22, authorities arrested Kirk Clark, an acquaintance of Damewood, and charged him with First Degree Murder.

Officers caught him on a traffic stop and also arrested his wife Doneal for unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The TBI said they later developed information that led them to believe Doneal was also responsible in Damewood's death.

It's not the first time Kirk has reportedly been in trouble with the law. A TBI criminal history record shows an arrest related to child support on April 30, 2013 and in April 2012 for allegedly manufacturing meth and having drug paraphernalia. Both incidents happened in Fentress County, the TBI report said.
