The Knox County District Attorney General's office wants a national news interview with a defendant in a murder trial.
Norman Clark is accused in the 2011 killing of his estranged girlfriend, Brittany Eldridge, and their unborn child.
His trial last year ended with a hung jury after jurors could not reach a unanimous decision. Prosecutors have announced they will retry Clark for the murders.
Dateline NBC has been following the case, and did an interview with Clark.
The Knox County prosecutor's office has begun the legal process to force Dateline to turn that interview over, but that battle will be found in courts in New York City, since that's where the network is based.
The Dateline segment about Eldridge's murder has not aired yet on television.
