Police: Tenn. youth football coach shot after dispute during game

Police said the coach had broken up a fight between players on his team and the opposing team. The coach reportedly told police the suspect approached him angry about the fight.

Nashville police are looking for a man who allegedly shot a youth football coach over the weekend during a dispute at a game.

The 42-year-old coach was shot twice in his right leg Saturday night at Antioch High School. Police said Sunday that he was recovering.

Police said the coach had broken up a fight between players on his team and the opposing team. The coach reportedly told police the suspect approached him angry about the fight.

The suspect asked the coach to meet him under the bleachers. Once there, the coach said the man pulled a pistol and began shooting.

The suspect was described as a man in his mid-30s with tattoos on his cheek and forehead. Police said he fled in a vehicle after the shooting.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call Nashville Crime Stoppers or the police.
