Money made for movies is being passed off as real in at least one East Tennessee county.

According to the Morristown Police Department, they've received several reports of people using counterfeit $100 dollar bills at local businesses.

The fake bills say “For Motion Picture Use Only” on the upper right corner of the front of the bill and across the top of the back. It also says that the note is not legal tender.

The counterfeit cash found so far have serial numbers ending in 8679, but they may not be the case for all of them.

The MPD is urging people and businesses to pay close attention to $100 bills. They can be detected as counterfeit with a currency detector pen and by the unusual markings.

During its investigation, the MPD also learned that fake $100's like this have been passes in other parts of the country.
