MORRISTOWN, Tenn. — The Morristown Police Department is searching for a suspect after an armed robbery early Saturday morning.
In a release, MPD said the robbery happened around 3:30 a.m. at Roadrunner Market on West Andrew Johnson Highway.
A man armed with a black and silver handgun demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk, according to MPD. He ran towards Barton Drive and may have then left in a vehicle, MPD said.
The suspect is a male in his early to mid-20s with blonde hair and blue eyes, approximately 5'6 to 5'8 and weighing around 150 pounds.
He was seen wearing a black zip-up jacket, blue jean, white tennis shoes with dark laces and a camouflage and black cap. He was also carrying a soda bottle in his back pocket.
The release from MPD also mentioned the suspect dropped his gun during the robbery and stopped to pick up spilled cigarettes from the floor.
