MPD identifies pedestrian killed in Morristown hit and run, suspect arrested

MPD identified Alisha Marie Caminiti, 31, as the person who was hit while trying to cross the highway just after midnight.

MORRISTOWN, Tenn. — UPDATE: Investigators with the Morristown Police Department have made an arrest in the hit and run that killed a pedestrian on West Andrew Johnson Highway early on Sunday morning, MPD said. 

MPD identified Alisha Marie Caminiti, 31, as the person who was hit while trying to cross the highway just after midnight. 

John Robert Crocillo, 34, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death.

Morristown Police are working to identify a driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run incident that happened early Sunday morning. 

This happened on West Andrew Johnson Highway.

A 31-year-old woman was trying to walk across the highway near S. Austin Road after midnight when she was hit and killed. The vehicle that hit her left before police arrived on the scene. 

Based on the evidence, police said they are looking for a white, compact four-door truck. They believe it is a Chevrolet Colorado or a GMC Canyon and it will have front-end damage on the passenger side. At the time of the incident, the vehicle was heading westbound.
