MCSO searching for burglary suspect in Monroe Co. with warrants for terroristic threats and assault with a gun

The sheriff's office also said Matthew Hughes was wanted for several burglaries in the area.

MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. — The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said it was searching for a man born in 1999 who is wanted after several burglaries in the area. The sheriff's office said Matthew Hughes also has warrants for burglary, terroristic threats and aggravated assault with a gun.

Tommy Jones, the Monroe County Sheriff, said on social media that he was last seen in the Maple Springs community wearing blue clothes. He also said Hughes is considered armed and dangerous, and said anyone who sees him should not approach. Instead, they should call 911.

Jones also said a cash reward is being offered for information leading to Hughes' arrest. Tipsters can stay anonymous, according to the post on social media.
