KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Rocky Top man made his initial appearance in federal court on Tuesday, following his indictment on child pornography charges, court documents show.
A grand jury indicted 37-year-old Micheal Robert Potter for the distribution of child porn and the possession of child porn, according to court documents.
Potter was taken into custody by the Rocky Top Police Department and the Knoxville Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, RTPD said in a Facebook post.
Court documents allege that Potter distributed child porn in March 2023 and had child porn in his possession in October 2023. The indictment doesn't specify the ages of the minors involved or provide details about how the alleged crimes were discovered.
Potter is scheduled to appear in court next on Dec. 4.
