MCMINN COUNTY, Tenn. — A McMinn County man is facing more than two dozen child sex crime charges, after the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said he was detained in Sweetwater on Monday.
According to a release, the TBI said agents received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about child sexual abuse material uploaded by a person on Snapchat. The TBI said the Snapchat user was identified as Kenterrius McGuffie, 27.
Law enforcement searched his Athens home while he was arrested at the place where he worked, according to the release. He was then charged with 13 counts of aggravated rape of a child, 12 counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, a count of continual sexual abuse of a child and a count of sexual exploitation of a minor involving more than 50 images.
He was booked into the McMinn County Jail and is being held on a $400,000 bond, according to the release.
