Maryville man arrested after heroin and methamphetamine traffic bust

ROCKFORD — A Maryville man is behind bars after deputies found drugs during a traffic stop in Rockford.

The Blount County Sheriff's Office said 27-year-old Dylan Porter Tarbett was one of many people inside a vehicle a deputy had pulled over Sunday afternoon at Little River Road and Old Knoxville Highway over a traffic violation.

According the BCSO, a K-9 team and county drug task force arrived to assist, finding felony amounts of heroin and methamphetamine as well as $1,700 in cash in Tarbett's possession.

Deputies released three of the occupants with no charges and arrested Tarbett on drug charges, and cited another woman for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tarbett is being held at the Blount County Correctional Facility on bonds totaling $80,000 for possession of heroin and methamphetamine in a school zone with intent to deliver.
