NEW TAZEWELL, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, along with the Claiborne County Sheriff's Office, is investigating a man who was charged with killing his wife.
On April 2, TBI and CCSO initially started the investigation into the death of 49-year-old Lori Ann Hopson after she was found outside of a car in the 500 block of Barren Creek Road, according to TBI.
Authorities later determined that 37-year-old Benjamin Wayne Hopson was the person responsible.
Lori Hopson was employed at Claiborne County Jail, according to the TBI.
On Monday, TBI obtained a warrant charging Benjamin with criminal homicide. He was served in the Claiborne County Jail, where he was already being held on other charges, TBI said.
Benjamin is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
