Warrant: Lenoir City man, 23, stabbed his grandfather's girlfriend, choked her, hit her on head with piece of wood

The suspect ran on foot shortly after the stabbing. The Loudon County Sheriff's Office searched areas around Steekee Creek Road and Corinth Church Road.

LOUDON, Tenn. — UPDATE MONDAY: The 23-year-old Lenoir City man charged over the weekend with attempted murder hit his victim over the head with a piece of wood, choked her and also stabbed her six times, a warrant states.

Dominic Comer lived at the home on Comer Private Way with his grandfather and the victim, Donna Tallent, 67, who was his grandfather's girlfriend.

The attack happened Saturday night, and Comer was taken into custody early Sunday, according to the Loudon County Sheriff's Office

"She was suffering from some severe injuries of stab wounds to her face and upper torso area as well. SMR like blunt force trauma to her face," Chief Deputy Zac Frye said. "He does have a prior arrest record and prior criminal record here in Loudon County."

Besides attempted murder, Comer was also charged with aggravated assault, LCSO said.

According to a warrant, Tallent was choked three times and hit over the head. Comer also stabbed her in the face, hand, three times in the arm and once in the back, penetrating her lung, records state.

Dispatch sent a reverse 911 call that night in search of Dominic Comer and locals helped the deputies find him, according to LCSO.

"He did go to one residence and said he was running from law enforcement and he needed to go well that person called 911 kind of pinpointed us into a specific area," LCSO Chief Deputy Zac Frye said. "Another homeowner resident called in and said, they see somebody walking down the road that matches the male's description."

The victim is currently in stable but critical condition at UT Medical Center. Comer was transported to the Loudon County Detention Center.

Frye said a situation as severe as this one is not common in the area.

"Domestic assaults are very common across Loudoun County and even in the nation," Frye said. "But to this extent, it is not that common here in Loudon County."
