LONDON, Ky. — The London Police Department said a 26-year-old was arrested for stealing a school bus and crashing it while driving under the influence on Tuesday.
John Driscoll faces multiple charges, including operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, according to LPD.
Officers responded to reports of a school bus stuck in a ditch at the intersection of Middleground Way and Sublimity School Road around 10:45 p.m. A witness told officers that Driscoll, who was dressed in all black, had crawled out of the bus and was running down the street, LPD said.
An officer found Driscoll and noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath. He admitted to drinking and stealing the school bus from South Laurel High School, according to LPD.
Driscoll also had an outstanding warrant out of Indiana, LPD said.
