LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — According to the Laurel County Sheriff's Office, Dakota Mackenzie Burns, 25, was arrested Tuesday morning after an investigation determined that she allegedly was operating a photography business, taking money from customers and not providing photos.
Burns was arrested around 12 miles south of London around 11:35 a.m., according to LCSO.
LCSO said Burns would take payment from people for her photography services under the name "Kynzie Burns Photography" and then not complete the services or not show up.
The sheriff's office said it located 11 victims so far with a total of $8,172 scammed from those victims. The sheriff's office said it obtained a complaint warrant of arrest for Burns charging her with theft by deception, including cold checks.
Burns was then placed in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
