KPD: 15-year-old suspect accused of Kwik Pantry shooting taken into custody

Police said Kendall Ridgeway has multiple juvenile petitions in connection to the shooting, including attempted first-degree murder.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — UPDATE(11/10): The Knoxville Police Department said Kendall Ridgeway, wanted on a juvenile petition for attempted first-degree murder, was taken into custody on Saturday. 

Ridgeway had multiple juvenile petitions stemming from a Sept. 13 shooting at the Kwik Pantry on Asheville Highway, according to KPD. The department said the Engagement Response Team took him into custody from his home on Riverside Drive.

The Knoxville Police Department is searching for a teen who was involved in a shooting that took place at the Kwik Pantry on Sept. 13.

KPD said 15-year-old Kendall Ridgeway has multiple juvenile petitions in connection to the shooting, including attempted first-degree murder.

According to police, one person was wounded in the shooting. They said the victim was found at the scene with non-life-threatening injuries in the leg.

Police said they believe there was a conflict inside the store involving the victim and two men when one shot at the victim multiple times. Police said the suspects left before officers arrived on the scene.
