KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A woman has been charged after a shooting that happened on Gaston Avenue Saturday morning, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
Jonta McClain, 43, was charged with attempted second-degree murder. A man, who was known to McClain, was seriously injured in the shooting, KPD said. They said she fired a revolver multiple times and hit the man three times.
McClain was taken into custody by KPD after the shooting, which took place near her home on Woodrow Drive. She is also charged with possessing a weapon as a convicted felon and tampering with evidence, according to reports.
KPD said the victim is hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
