Two sisters are facing multiple counts of attempted second degree murder after police said they ran into four people with their car following a fight.
No one had life-threatening injures in the incident according to the Knoxville Police Department.
KPD said they responded around 9:10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29 to a call that a group of juveniles had been fighting in the area of Washington Pike and Whittle Springs Road.
According to KPD, the officers then got word from dispatch that several juveniles had been hit by a car at Fairview Street and Washington Pike. Officers said they found two adults and two juveniles had been struck by a vehicle, and three of them were taken to the hospital for various non-life threatening injuries.
The fourth victim did not seek medical treatment.
KPD said the preliminary investigation revealed the four victims and two from Knoxville, 24-year-old Jalisa Waterson and her 17-year-old sister, had been involved in an earlier confrontation at Belle Morris Elementary School.
Police said the victims were walking down Fairview Street when they saw a Nissan Altima coming at them fast. The four tried to run, but the car hit them off the road and then drove off according to police.
Officers said the victims ID'd the driver and passenger as the two sisters from earlier. The two were detained for questioning initially, and KPD said they conferred with the Knox County District Attorney General's Office and charged both with four counts of attempted second degree murder.
The 17-year-old suspect was taken to the Richard L. Bean Juvenile Detention Center, and Waterson is being held at the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility on a $400,000 bond.
