KPD: 20-year-old arrested for aggravated assault after firing gun at gas station

A 20-year-old woman was arrested Monday after allegedly firing a gun into the air during an argument, according to Knoxville Police.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A 20-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after allegedly firing a gun into the air at a gas station, according to the Knoxville Police Department. 

Knoxville Police say Lua fired the gun during an argument that happened at a gas station on Cherry Road. Around 2 p.m. on Monday, officers stopped and arrested her while on patrol as she was driving near the I-40 entrance ramp.

Additional charges were placed on Lua after the traffic stop and an investigation, including for the possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, police said. Officers have recovered and confiscated the gun that she used. 

Lua is now charged with an outstanding felony warrant, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
