KPD: 2 suspects from Chattanooga area charged in connection to string of car break-ins in late April

Two suspects from the Chattanooga area were charged with multiple counts of vehicle burglary, the Knoxville Police Department said.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department Property and Crimes detectives have identified and charged two suspects who are believed to be involved in a string of car burglaries throughout Knoxville, including two hotels on Executive Park Drive in Late April.

The two suspects, Jkwell Bradley, 19, and Terrence Brewer, 21, were charged with multiple counts of vehicle burglary, KPD said. The department also said Bradley was from the southern portion of the greater Chattanooga Metropolitan Area in Georgia, while Brewer was from the Tennessee side of Chattanooga.

This investigation comes after multiple cars were broken into early on the morning of April 28 in the parking lots of two hotels on Executive Park Drive, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

"In total, the involved individuals potentially burglarized, or attempted to burglarize, at least 20 vehicles," a KPD spokesperson said online after the break-ins in late April.

KPD said throughout the investigation, detectives identified a vehicle of interest related to the burglaries. A video recovered showed three suspects dressed in all black breaking into vehicles parked along the street and leaving in a Chevy Silverado, a police report said.

KPD then used license plate cameras to track the suspected vehicle at two locations in the city. Those two locations were Clinch Avenue at 11th Street at 1:22 a.m., and Merchants Drive at around 2:30 a.m., both on the morning of April 28.

Officers then found the vehicle along with two suspects early on May 6 at Merchants Center Boulevard.

"The investigation into the string of burglaries remains ongoing and detectives are continuing their efforts to identify any other involved individuals," KPD said.
