KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department said officers responded to a report of shots being fired in the 1300 block of University Avenue just after 7 p.m. Wednesday.

A witness reported hearing gunfire and seeing two groups running from the area, according to KPD.

A stolen white Honda reportedly left the scene and was found abandoned in the 900 block of Woodland Avenue. Officers said they found evidence that five people had gotten out of the car and ran from the scene.

On July 29, around five days after the shooting, KPD released pictures of the suspects and asked for help identifying them. If anyone recognizes them, the police department said they should reach out to the East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers group either by calling 865-215-7165 or through the group's website.

No suspects have been located or identified, according to KPD.
