The Knoxville Police Department said Thursday that officers were working to take a man into custody at a North Knoxville apartment complex. In a post on social media, KPD also said crisis negotiators were working at the scene.

By 4:35 p.m., KPD said the suspect was taken into custody at the scene without issue.

It was located on the 4700 block of Schubert Road and KPD said the man was wanted for "multiple outstanding felony warrants." He was taken into custody at the Pine Ridge Apartments, according to a release from police.

KPD said crisis negotiators and special operations squad officers were sent to the apartments to help detectives apprehend the man. Negotiators made phone contact with the man shortly after arriving and encouraged him to peacefully surrender. After around an hour of negotiations, he voluntarily exited the apartment and was taken into custody, KPD said.

No injuries were reported and the man was taken back to the Public Safety Complex for questioning and further investigation on "the suspect’s potential involvement in other recent, ongoing investigations."
