FARRAGUT, Tenn. — A woman was arrested early Thursday morning after deputies responded to a report of a threat toward a Farragut school, according to the Knox County Sherriff's Office.
The Major Crimes Unit received a report at 9:19 a.m. on Feb. 29 about a social media post on Snapchat that said, "Shoot up Farragut, shoot up the school." KCSO said it included an image of a female holding a gun.
KCSO said officers and agents from the Tennessee Office of Homeland Security then arrested the woman, identified as 18-year-old Amina Fatima Albaraqi, for misdemeanor threats of mass violence on school property or at school-related activities.
According to the arrest report, the threat was made toward Farragut High School. A witness who went to the high school told deputies they received the picture and message from Albaraqi. The witness said Albaraqi also threatened two other people, according to the arrest report.
KCSO booked Albaraqi into the Knox County Detention Center Friday at 5 a.m.
According to KCSO, the case is still under investigation. It said it "will not make any additional comments or statements about the incident."
