JEFFERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said a man was wounded in a domestic-related shooting early Tuesday morning.
In a post on social media, the sheriff's office said deputies responded to a call about the shooting at around 1:20 a.m. on Valley Creek Road. When they arrived, the sheriff's office said they found Christopher Stepp with a gunshot wound on his right leg. He was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Deputies also identified Charlotte Pratt as the shooter — Stepp's girlfriend, according to JCSO. In the post on social media, the sheriff's office said deputies saw her walk out of a room carrying a gun in one hand and a knife in the other.
JCSO said deputies told her to put down the weapon and she did. She was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault before being taken to the Jefferson County Jail, according to the sheriff's office.
