Holly Hill, SC (WLTX) - It has been one week since a tragic shooting at a Holly Hill homes claimed the lives of four people and left an eight-year-old in the hospital.
The murders of Krystal Hutto, 28, Jerome Butler, 50, Shamekia Sanders, 17 and 14-year-old Tamara Perry still have the Holly Hill community in shock.
At this point there have been no arrests in their deaths.
After speaking with people around Holly Hill they concerned about the fact that the person who did this crime hasn't been found.
"When you come from a small town you expect the big city to not be here," says Ruth Berry. "The whole town's really shocked, that's a lot of people to get killed."
"I'm not frightened by it, but I'm concerned about it because I got to go on living and you can't stay awake all night wondering what's going to happen," says Willy Bryant of Vance. "Just pray and ask God to protect you and he will."
"I kind of feel real sad for the families and I'm hoping that they will catch the killer," says Juliet Bookhart. "It just doesn't feel like it makes any since for innocent kids to be involved in something that terrible, that's where our hearts go out to those families and those kids."
One woman who spoke with off camera says she has no doubt that police will find who did this and understands that it takes time to gather all of the evidence in the investigation.
The Orangeburg County Sheriff's office has been working around the clock to piece together what happened last Wednesday morning at Hutto's home off of Old State Road.
Richard Walker with the sheriffs office says he's confident that they will catch the person responsible for these shootings. Until then they are continuing their investigation.
