A 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged with delinquent by false report Friday after several people told investigators they heard him make a threat about bringing a gun to Heritage High School.
According to the Blount County Sheriff's Office, the student was a freshman. The school resource officer at Heritage High School said he was informed of the threat Friday afternoon and immediately started his investigation along with the school's administration.
The SRO determined the boy does not have access to weapons at his home. The student is currently being housed at the Blount County Juvenile facility pending a detention release hearing, according to the sheriff's office.
