JEFFERSON COUNTY, Tennessee — A Morristown woman is facing several charges after one of her patients caught her stealing her medication on camera, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
On Wednesday, deputies were dispatched to a home on a report of medication theft. After arriving, a woman said she had noticed that she was short on her medication count for a while. After speaking with her pharmacy, they decided to install cameras inside her home, especially in the area where her medication was kept, JCSO said.
The woman said her nurse, Sally Hensley, 47, had been to her home for a scheduled visit. According to JCSO, after Hensley left, the woman saw that her prescription for Hydrocodone had approximately 15 pills missing.
The family reviewed the footage and saw that Hensley had opened the bottle, poured pills into her hand and hid the pills in her pocket.
Hensley was arrested for theft, burglary and neglect of an elderly or vulnerable adult, according to JCSO.
Deputies are encouraging any patient who has had similar instances with Hensley to contact JCSO Det/Sgt Jonathan Owens at 866-397-9411 ext 1106.
