A Hawkins County teenager already booked in jail for a Sunday night Church Hill robbery is facing additional felony charges in relation to an armed robbery later that evening in Mount Carmel.

Sheriff Ronnie Lawson said in report that Austin Allen Swarthout, 18, of Mount Carmel was charged on Tuesday with two counts of aggravated kidnapping, one count of aggravated robbery and possession of a firearm during a felony.

Swarthout already signed a confession earlier that day of robbing the Quick Stop at 141 East Main Blvd. in Church Hill at gunpoint. He faces two charges in that case.

The county charges are based on the armed robbery reported at the Dollar General store on Francisco Lane in Mount Carmel, Lawson's report said.

Swarthout is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Wednesday in General District Court in Rogersville.

Church Hill Police Chief Mark Johnson said investigators found the weapon and the clothes Swarthout was wearing in both crimes at his home during a search on Tuesday. The teen also gave the department a written confession about the crimes, the chief reported.
