KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department took a man into custody at a home on Prosser Road.
Haushann Simpson was taken into custody after fleeing from a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon, KPD said. This led officers on a pursuit before Simpson abandoned his car in the Cornelia Street area.
Simpson was wanted on an indictment for charges that include carjacking, aggravated robbery and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, according to police.
Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
KPD Special Operations Squad and the Knox County Sheriff's Office AirWatch Unit assisted the arrest.
