HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. — The Kentucky State Police said its Critical Incident Response Team is investigating after a man died following a trooper-involved shooting on March 2.
A KSP spokesperson said Post 10 in Harlan County requested the team to investigate the shooting. The spokesperson said the shooting happened at around 10:14 p.m. According to a post on social media, the spokesperson said a man was pronounced dead by the Harlan County Coroner inside a Teetersville home.
No other injuries were reported, according to the spokesperson.
"KSP is committed to being transparent while ensuring the integrity of the investigation. To protect the integrity of an ongoing investigation, it is KSP’s standard operating procedure not to release specific details until vital witnesses have been interviewed and pertinent facts gathered," the spokesperson also said.
