Hancock County deputies find last of 5 inmates who escaped from jail on July 17

HANCOCK COUNTY, Tenn. — Update (July 24): After around a week, all inmates were escaped from Hancock County jail have been taken into custody. Four inmates were captured on July 17, but Jason Holden Collins evaded authorities for around a week before he was taken into custody on July 24.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is searching for several jail inmates who escaped Wednesday night.

According to the sheriff’s office, five inmates were able to escape from the jail around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. Those inmates were identified as Casey Denim, Todd Carroll, Jason Holden Collins, John Benton III and Adam Bailey.

Bailey and Benton have since been captured and returned to jail. Deputies are still searching for the other three.

“These inmates are not known to be armed. If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of these inmates or if anyone comes in contact with them they can contact the Hancock Sheriff’s Office at any time at 423-733-2249,” HCSO said.
