GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — One man is charged with attempted first-degree murder after deputies found a man with multiple gunshot wounds in northern Greene County on Monday, according to the Greene County Sheriff's Department.
At around 7 p.m., GCSD responded to a shooting at a residence in the 600 block of Bear Hollow Road. After arriving on the scene, deputies found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was later flown to Johnson City Medical Center where he is in critical condition, deputies said.
The suspect, 68-year-old Claude "Junior" West, fled the scene but was later caught by GCSD in Hawkins County.
West is being held in the Greene County Detention Center on a $400,000 bond, according to GCSD.
He is set to appear for arraignment in Greene County Sessions Court on Wednesday, May 29.
