Former KCS teacher charged with sending sexual content to boy via Snapchat

Kristin M. Brown is due in court Dec. 6.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A former Knox County Schools teacher is accused of sending sexual material to an underage boy via Snapchat.

A Knox County grand jury indicted Kristin M. Brown, 34, earlier this month on five counts of exploitation of a minor by electronic means. She's due in Knox County Criminal Court on Dec. 6.

The crimes are alleged to have occurred between December 2023 and March 5, records state. The counts specifically state the alleged victim was under age 13 and that she exposed the boy by electronic communication to "material containing sexual activity" for her own gratification.

Knox County Schools said she's not been with the system since March 18.

The alleged victim's mother told 10News that Brown taught at Karns Middle School. WBIR is not naming her to protect the identity of the child.

The mother told WBIR she discovered what Brown had been doing and immediately alerted school authorities. Brown left KCS soon after.
