PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A former Dandridge constable will serve time in prison based on a ruling by Chief United States District Judge Karen Caldwell on Oct. 4.
Bobby Roy Justice, 67, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison and ordered to pay a $60,000 fine for conspiring to distribute oxycodone pills.
A federal investigation revealed Justice imported over 90,000 oxycodone pills from suppliers in Florida to the Pike County area for distribution over a five-year period. Justice also used others to distribute pills on his behalf.
During one of the trips, the Kentucky State Police found Justice in possession of hundreds of pills and a firearm. He pled guilty to the charges in May 2018.
Prior to his indictment, Justice was a constable in Dandridge, Tennessee. He has since resigned.
Under federal law, Justice must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence and will be under the supervision of the United States Probation Office for three years when he is released.
