KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Two Knoxville pharmacy owners accused of making millions through healthcare fraud now face additional legal woes. The government wants to take away some of their prized assets.
Federal prosecutors have filed a lengthy forfeiture list in U.S. District Court in Knoxville against Tiffany Haney, Anne Warren and Rocky Hill Pharmacy LLC.
Properties being targeted by the feds include a multi-story "cabin" in Sevier County, a 2024 GMC Sierra, a 2023 Cadillac Escalade and several Knoxville properties.
Earlier this month, the government announced an eight-count indictment against the women. They were arraigned this week before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jill McCook.
They've pleaded not guilty.
The government alleges Warren and Haney racked up more than $8.7 million in health care fraud. They altered or forged prescriptions in support of claims for reimbursement to various drug plans, prosecutors allege.
According to the indictment, Warren and Haney also made false statements and used the names and National Provider Identification (NPI) numbers of another person without lawful authority.
Their crimes are alleged to have occurred from 2018 until July.
Perhaps the biggest single asset the government is going after is the cabin on Blue Iris Way in Sevier County owned by Tiffany and Christopher Haney, records state. It was purchased in 2023 for $1.8 million, records show.
Built in 2014, it features multiple floors.
Prosecutors also seek to forfeit the Haneys' Knox County house on Braithwaite Lane, purchased in 2020 for $800,000, county records state, and property off Northshore Drive in West Knox County owned by Anne Warren and husband Craig Warren.
Other items listed include bank accounts held by Warren and Tiffany Haney and investment accounts in the names of both defendants. Court records also identify two watercraft.
Besides the FBI, the case was investigated by the TBI, the Office of Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services and the office of Inspector General for the Department of Labor, according to a government announcement.
