KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Fort Wayne, Indiana, man drove to Morgan County and raped a 13-year-old girl after meeting her on Snapchat, according to federal authorities.
Aungsun Naywin, 31, is charged in federal court in Knoxville with traveling to the area to have sex with her. The incident occurred March 21, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
The FBI and Morgan County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
According to federal authorities, Naywin decided after meeting her on Snapchat and learning she was a minor to set up a meeting people here.
He took her to a "remote location" and raped her, according to the DOJ.
The investigation is part of the government's Project Safe Childhood, an effort to stop child sexual exploitation and abuse.
