Officers caught two Whitley County, Ky. inmates that escaped in an official car during theirwork release on Monday.
Williamsburg Police said both Justin Jaynes, 23; Michael Mayes, 24; were caught in Clinton, Tenn. Police said they took an official Ford Ranger pick-up truck to make their escape.
Williamsburg PD said they caught the pair after a vehicle and foot pursuit a few hours later.
10News’ Lexington affiliate reports both are state inmates who are serving time for theft, burglary and criminal mischief.
Anderson County Sheriff's Department posted on Facebook that they used spike strips "which flattened at least one of the tires and the chase ended on Sulphur Springs Road."
ACSD reported the pair is being held in Campbell County Jail on charges related to the pursuit as well as a Fugitive From Justice for Kentucky.
