KPD identifies man killed in East Knoxville shooting

The Knoxville Police Department said officers were responding to a reported dispute when they discovered a man who was shot once.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Update (11/11): The Knoxville Police Department has identified the victim of the shooting that happened Friday morning.

They said 35-year-old Shaquille Boyd was shot in the area of Harrison Street and Magnolia Avenue. Police is still investigating.

Original (11/8): The Knoxville Police Department said it's investigating a deadly East Knoxville shooting. 

Officers responded to a report of two men yelling near Magnolia Avenue and Harrison Street around 5:30 a.m. Friday and discovered a man who'd been shot, KPD said.

Officials pronounced the man dead at the scene and the department's homicide unit and crime lab personnel are now leading the investigation, according to KPD.
