Man arrested, charged with aggravated assault after a shooting in downtown Morristown

Police said the suspect was arguing with a man while going to a party at 142 West Main Street before shooting him.

MORRISTOWN, Tenn. — A man was arrested Sunday morning after a shooting in downtown Morristown left one person injured, according to the Morristown Police Department. 

Carl Antonio Davis, Jr., 27, is suspected of shooting 28-year-old Jordan Suiter behind 142 West Main Street. MPD said both men were arguing while going to a party in the building before Davis shot Suiter. 

Suiter was flown to UT Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Davis was charged with aggravated assault. Officials also said a third man at the scene, Rex Mincy, 51, was charged with public intoxication.
