DA: Woman confessed to breaking into neighbor's home on Facebook

Knoxville — A jury convicted a Knoxville woman who admitted to breaking into her neighbor's home on Facebook.

Knox County prosecutors said Stephanie Dawn Hunt, 39, used a baseball bat to break a sliding glass door at her neighbor's home in Bearden in May 2016. Once inside, she stole a 42-inch television, $2,100 in cash, and other items.

The neighbor was on vacation when the burglary happened.

Hunt's conviction was likely sealed when she admitted to the breaking the glass and stealing on her Facebook page..

A jury convicted Hunt of aggravated burglary, theft, and vandalism. She will be sentenced on June 8. She could get three to six years behind bars for the burglary charge and two to four years each on the theft and vandalism charges.
