MIDDLESBORO, Ky. — A 50-year-old Cumberland Gap man was arrested on Thursday after the Kentucky State Police said it started investigating a complaint of sexual misconduct. KSP said Craig Callen was arrested by the Claiborne County Sheriff's Office and taken to the Claiborne County Detention Center.
It said he was awaiting extradition to Bell County, in Kentucky. KSP said Callen is facing charges of third-degree rape, third-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse.
The school board attorney for the Middlesboro Independent School District said Thursday night that Callen was a high school social studies teacher for the school district. The attorney also said his employment was terminated on Thursday by the superintendent.
