CCSO alerts community about scammers pretending to be officials using its official logo

They said scammers are pretending to be from the sheriff's office in an attempt to steal personal information or money.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Tenn. — The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is warning the public about a recent scam where fraudsters are using the CCSO logo to deceive residents.

They said scammers are pretending to be CCSO in an attempt to steal personal information or money.

Deputies said they will never ask for personal or financial information over the phone, via email or through text. They said if you receive a suspicious call, email or text claiming to be from the sheriff's office, verify the authenticity by contacting CCSO directly.

If you suspect you have been targeted by this scam, report it to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.
