KPD investigating after suspects shoot man, steal car from BucketHead Tavern in West Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department said it's investigating a shooting and robbery at a West Knoxville bar

Officers responded to BucketHead Tavern on Ray Mears Boulevard around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, according to KPD. 

A 61-year-old Florida man who had been shot multiple times was found in the parking lot. He was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for injuries that were "not expected to be life-threatening," KPD said. 

Detectives learned the victim was leaving the bar when he was confronted at gunpoint by at least two currently unidentified people. He was shot and the suspects left the scene in the victim's red Cadillac XT6, according to KPD. 

The department said the car was found abandoned on Atlantic Avenue Thursday morning and it's still working to identify the suspects.
