BELL COUNTY, Ky. — The Bell County Sheriff's Department said a man was arrested and charged Wednesday for burning a home down and assaulting a woman.
They said Kenneth Brock, 48, from Pineville, was at a home on Joe E. Dell Road with a gun Wednesday evening trying to force his way in. They said a woman had called dispatchers for help, and a release from BCSD said that he physically assaulted her and shot at her.
The woman told dispatchers Brock set the home on fire and ran away from the scene, according to the release. They said that the home was a total loss.
Deputies found Brock walking in the woods carrying a shotgun and took him into custody. They said Brock had a "no contact" order against him in regard to the victim.
The woman also had multiple injuries, according to the release. BCSD said that she was taken to a hospital.
Brock was charged with first-degree arson, evading police, wanton endangerment, second-degree assault and domestic violence, menacing, burglary, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
They said no bond was set as of Wednesday evening.
