ALCOA, Tenn — The Alcoa Police Department said on social media Friday it was searching for two suspects accused of arson. It said they may be juveniles and shared a video online of them lighting a bag on fire and leaving it on the front porch of a North Linden Drive home.

The video appears to be taken from a nearby home. It shows a red pickup truck approaching and parking behind a tree. Two people then walk up to a home, standing near its garage. They appear to light something on fire.

As the fire gets bigger, they walk up to the home's front door and leave it. The two people then run away as the fire continues to grow.

"The APD has a zero-tolerance policy for trying to set someone’s home on fire, and that’s what would have happened if the bag didn’t self-extinguish," the police department said on social media.

It said anyone with information about the suspects or the case should reach out to Lieutenant Sparks at jdsparks@cityofalcoa-tn.gov. They can also reach out to the East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers at 865-215-7165.
