Fourth person charged, fifth at large in Harriman attempted murder

A fourth person has been arrested and a fifth person is wanted in connection to a deadly stabbing on Margrave Drive in Harriman last month.

UPDATE Friday, April 13, 2018 at 1:45 p.m.:

A fourth person has been arrested in connection to a deadly stabbing on Margrave Drive in Harriman last month.

Officers arrested Joseph A. Martinez on Thursday after a traffic stop near the Sonic Drive-In on N. Roane Street.

He was charged with especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, criminal responsibility for aggravated assault, and criminal responsibility for especially aggravated robbery, according to the Harriman Police Department.

Martinez was taken to the Roane County Sheriff's Office and released to corrections staff, authorities said.

Harriman Police have issued warrants for a fifth person believed to be connected to the attempted homicide. Officers said Zakary Edward Perrine is at large and officers are actively looking for him.

Perrine faces charges including especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, criminal responsibility for attempted first degree murder, criminal responsibility

for especially aggravated robbery, criminal responsibility for especially aggravated kidnapping and

criminal responsibility for aggravated assault, according to the sheriff's office.

ORIGINAL STORY Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 3 p.m.: Three Harriman area residents face charges in a March attack that left a man with a nicked jugular and a gunshot wound, according to city officials.

Harriman authorities identified the trio as Bobby D. Jackson, David J. Jackson and Cheyenne Presswood.

Bobby Jackson and David Jackson, whose connection is unclear, are charged with attempted first-degree murder, especially aggravated robbery, especially aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault. Presswood is charged with criminal responsibility for attempted first degree murder, criminal responsibility for especially aggravated robbery, criminal responsibility for especially aggravated kidnapping and criminal responsibility for aggravated assault.

Police were called the afternoon of March 26 on a stabbing at 104 Margrave Drive. They found a man, whose name has not been released, with multiple stab wounds, including one to his jugular vein. He'd lost significant blood, according to the city.

After the victim arrived at University of Tennessee Medical Center, medical personnel discovered he'd also been shot in the torso and would require surgery.

Investigators looked at home security camera footage and security footage from the Harriman Utility Board as they worked the case. Their investigation led to the defendants, who were arrested Thursday, according to a city release.

Bobby Jackson was arrested at Roane State Community College. David Jackson and Cheyenne Presswood were arrested at the same address where the victim had been found.

"The Harriman Police Department would like to thank the 9th District Attorney General’s Office for their assistance and guidance. They would also like to thank the Roane State Community College Police Department for their assistance in the arrest operation. Additionally, they wish to thank the Harriman Utility Board for their cooperation," the news release states.
