2 arrested in Morristown, 1 other charged in the death of 18-year-old North Carolinian

Two were found in Tennessee and taken into custody "without incident," ECSO said.

MORRISTOWN, Tenn — Three people have been charged in the death of an 18-year-old missing from North Carolina since Feb. 24. 

The Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina said on March 6, detectives from Halifax County and the Wilson Police Department met with detectives from Edgecombe County to review the death of Amir Hinnant.

ECSO said Hinnant was reported missing the month prior. According to WRAL in Raleigh, North Carolina -- Hinnant's body was later found in rural Halifax County. Investigators believed Hinnant died in one location and his body was disposed of later in a remote location off NC Highway 481.

The sheriff's office said the suspects, along with the vehicle they used, were identified after a collaborative effort.

According to ECSO, the suspects were identified as Jose Bryan Rodriguez Bautista, Makaleigh Amanda Vick and Michael Logan Proctor. The three were charged with concealment of death in both Edgecombe and Halifax counties. 

ECSO said Bautista and Vick ran to Tenessee to avoid being caught, but were captured by a group effort from the Nash County Sheriff's Office, U.S. Marshals and Morristown Police Department in Tennessee. The two were taken into custody "without incident," said ECSO.
