2 inmates escape from Bell County Detention Center

A preliminary investigation indicates David Mosely, 41, of Middlesboro and Matthew Price, 45, of Middlesboro both assaulted detention staff members by spraying one staff member in the eyes with bleach while the other staff member was assaulted causing injuries to his ribs, according to KSP.

Kentucky State Police have asked for help locating two inmates who escaped the Bell County Detention Center Tuesday night.

On Aug. 21, 2018 at 9:11 p.m., the Bell County Detention Center told Kentucky State Police in Harlan that two individuals had escaped from their facility.

Tpr. Josh Cox, Tpr. Frank Russell, and Sgt. Jason Bunch responded to the detention center and began an investigation.

A preliminary investigation indicates David Mosely, 41, of Middlesboro and Matthew Price, 45, of Middlesboro both assaulted detention staff members by spraying one staff member in the eyes with bleach while the other staff member was assaulted causing injuries to his ribs, according to KSP.

David Mosely is described as white male, 6’1’’, 200 pounds, and bald.

Matthew Price is described as a white male, 5’9’’, 170 pounds and blondish brown hair. Both Mosely and Price have multiple tattoos including on their chest.

Kentucky State Police is asking the public to not approach either individual if you see them.

KSP is asking that you contact 911 or KSP Post 10 Harlan with any information on where these individuals may be.
