Knoxville Pridefest and Parade postponed to 2021 due to coronavirus

Knox Pride said it values the health of all citizens, so it decided to cancel the event. It is adding a new fall event as an extension of Pridefest.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knox Pride announced Friday that the annual Knoxville Pridefest and Parade are postponed to 2021 to protect people from coronavirus.

It was originally scheduled for June 20. However, organizers said that they valued the health of all citizens and wanted to put the public's best interests first.

"To all of our followers, partners, and friends, we are living in a time of uncertainty and intense concern for day-to-day health," organizers said in a post on the Knox Pride Facebook page.

They also announced that they would add a new event to the 2020 calendar, a Fall Festival. KnoxPride's new Fall Festival will be an extension of Pridefest. It does not have an official date yet, but organizers said they would give more information soon.
