JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Anyone struggling to find ways to help communities impacted by historic flooding and Hurricane Helene can attend an upcoming information session to learn about volunteering opportunities, and how to help the communities effectively.
East Tennessee State University said it would host three information sessions to help volunteers get the skills and knowledge they need to support recovery efforts. It also said on social media more than 400 students and employees at the university attended previous information sessions.
The three sessions it announced on Sunday are listed below.
Links to register for the online information sessions are available through ETSU's event calendar. The sessions should last around an hour. The university is also helping facilitate donation centers to collect supplies to be distributed to the Unicoi YMCA and Elizabethton shelters.
